What’s New: The 2026 Chevy Tahoe is basically a carryover model after receiving major updates last year.
Why:
A throaty V8
A diesel engine is available
Roomy
22-inch and 24-inch wheels available
Towing power
Hands-free highway steering system
Leather seats
A power tilt telescopic steering wheel
A panoramic sunroof
Newly redesign instrument panel
An easy-to-use infotainment system
A heads-up system (HUD)
A rear seat entertainment system
Heated/ventilated front seats
Rear power third-row seats
Power retractable steps
Air suspension
Power liftgate
Too pricey, a near $100k price tag
Seats are too firm
No side window sunshades for the second-row seats
Limited rear cargo room when all seats are in use
No hybrid powertrain
The truck-on-truck frame, when loaded to the max, with its hands-free steering and throaty V8, can easily top out an eye-popping $100,000. We found that to be case with the top-of-the-line High Country we tested. The three-row Chevrolet which was priced in luxury range to compete with SUVs from Lexus, Cadillac and Lincoln seemed out of its depth. Before one decides to open their purse to spend $100,000 on a Tahoe High Country, wouldn’t it make sense to step in to a Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Land Rover or Lexus LX, which all offer a longer warranty, a luxury cache and possibly better service when taking the vehicle in for maintenance and repair?
While Chevy has made great strides with the Tahoe, they need to really consider their pricing strategy.
Competition: 2026 Ford Expedition; 2026 GMC Yukon; and Toyota Sequoia
Luxury Competition: 2026 Cadillac Escalade; Lincoln Navigator; Infiniti QX50; and Lexus LX
