Ironically, although one station abruptly decided not to carry our program, an AM station in Phoenix, Arizona welcomed us with open arms. They had inquired about adding our program to their programming. Unlike the station in Atlanta, the conservative Christian station allowed us to expand to a weekly program. Albeit, at the time, we were only in a position to produce a monthly program. Although we were now a weekly program, we only created one new show per month. This meant when our listeners tuned in, they heard the same program for the entire month. Once the program was perfected we eventually evolved to creating new weekly shows.
.
Moreover, upon launching Auto Trends with JeffCars.com, we were told by a radio mentor to format the show as if it was a national program. Thus, while we were only on local radio outlets, this forced us to book high profile guests and to focus on topics that would resonate with listeners across the globe. As a result of that sound advice, it allowed us to pitch the program to SiriusXM, the largest audio entertainment group in the U. S. SiriusXM, a subscription-based service, has over 33 million subscribers. Literally ever new car sold in the U.S. is outfitted with SiriusXM.
And since becoming a part of the SiriusXM family, we've become the only multicultural automotive program on the platform. In fact, at one point we were the only automotive program available via the satellite service.
This expansion to SiriusXM continued to expand into traditional radio markets, too - both commercial and public radio outlets. Thus, this give non subscribers to SiriusXM access to tune in without having to pay a subscription fee. Added to that, this expansion has deemed Auto Trends with JeffCars.com as the only syndicated multicultural program in North America.
Furthermore, while many media outlets, institutions and public outlets are steering clear of DEI, its no way we can do such. According to S & P Global Mobility, over 33 percent of today's new car buyers are from diverse communities. As a result of these stats and the collective buying power of minority groups, its no way we can ignore their sweat equity and financial investments to the automotive industry.
So, as we roll into our 10th radio season, we will continue to highlight voices from diverse groups despite any headwinds we might encounter. We know eventually this too shall pass.
And to tune in to to this weekend's program, click here. AutoForecast Solutions' Sam Fiorani and The Presidio Group's Kevin Tynan join us for a robust panel discussion centered around the Georgia ICE raid at the automotive manufacturing plant, the ending of electric vehicle federal consumer incentives and more. Fiorani and Tynan are two well respected veteran auto analysts in the industry.
