The stylish hatchback crossover, which is reminiscent of the VW GTI, effortlessly spews out over
600-horsepower. And although the vehicle lacks tailpipes and an engine, like a
car video game, the engineers have tuned the Ioniq 5 N to sound just like a
gasoline powered sports car.
Moreover, the roomy five-seater, with the partially
reclining rear seats, is outfitted with supportive ventilated performance front
seats, a multitude of electronic gauges designed specifically for measuring
speed and an 8-speaker high end Bose audio system.
Furthermore, the Ioniq 5 can garner up to 255 miles on a full
charge. This number can vary as we experienced during extremes with the temperature.
In fact, as the temperatures approached 100 degrees, in our test model a full charge dropped to
235 miles.
At a price point approaching near $70,000, before any
federal and/or local incentives kicked in, the Ioniq 5 Limited AWD, which
offers about half of the horsepower, as the N we reviewed, stickered for about
$10,000 less. While most of us will never use the extra horsepower offered by
the N, it sure does allow owners to flex, earning bragging rights.
Lastly, after spending time behind the wheel of the N,
this will make buyers think twice about buying performance models from Audi,
BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The 2025 N definitely has the "it factor." And like any race car, this snazzy looking racing machine is also designed for the track, drifting and more. Sadly, we were unable to experience all this vehicle has to offer being that we didn't want to risk getting a ticket!
Competition: Any muscle car..... Maybe most muscle cars....Watch out Hellcat!!!
