New Cars Vs. Used Cars: Is There Really A Price Difference?

If you're following the philosophy of the 'The Millionaire Next Door,' then you know that you should always consider buying used over new due to a vehicle really not being an asset and the depreciation factor. However, due to the shortage of used vehicles these days and the discounts on new vehicles, this theory may not always hold true. We always say due your homework and check prices and repair history of the vehicle, before steering toward a new or used vehicle. Check out this current article we found on The Detroit Free Press website this week, clicking here.

Buying a new car is hard on the wallet. Not only do new cars cost more than used cars, but they depreciate in value more quickly too. A vehicle loses the most value in the first few years of ownership.

There’s definitely a significant price difference between new and used cars, especially with the newer models. Depending on the condition of the used car, the value of it could still come close to the price of a new version of it. But still, there would still be a difference.

I think one of the main issues when it comes to prices is that used or older cars may have lower buying prices, but then repairs and/or restorations might cost enough to either match or go over the price of newer cars or models. This is why it’s important to go over every detail of the car that you’re looking at, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and how much you’d be willing to shell out for it.

Used cars will definitely go for a lot less than new cars, but then, buying used and buying new both have pros and cons to consider that won’t always have to do with money. For example, there’s a better chance of finding a specific make and model at a used car dealership. However, it may not have a lot of the safety features of today’s newer cars. It’s helpful to do as much research before deciding on the kind of car you want.

With the state of today's economy, buying used is the smart way to go. They provide a great value for less money. I am looking for used cars in Weslaco TX and have been very impressed with what I have found so far.
