Could Smartphones Make In-Dash Audio Systems and GPS Systems Obsolete?

Smartphones can be used with an iPad ap and key fob, locking unlock car doors and turning the a/c on.

With over 40% of Americans using Smartphones these days, Delphi is counting on this new-technology to be the wave of the future - virtually eliminating the need for an in-dash navigation system and in-dash audio system. Chevy's 2011 Cruise, which will arrive at dealerships later this month, will become one of the first vehicles to incorporate some of Delphi's new-technology with an Applet to both lock and unlock doors along with turning on the a/c.
