The Blue Oval And the General Joins Hyundai, Offering Job Protection Plan
In an unprecedented move, General Motors and Ford Motor Co., is joining Hyundai offering buyer protection in the midst of the economic turmoil for any customer who loses their job. From now until June, consumers who purchase a new Ford, Mercury or Lincoln will have their car payments covered up to $700 a month if they become unemployed over the next twelve months., while GM will cover their customers for nine months up to $500 a month for two years through April 30. In addition to payment protection, GM will also offer a guarantee on trade-in values, too when trading-in for another GM vehicle in the near future. Since launching the Hyundai Assurance program, the Korean automaker sales have increased immensely. Hopefully, this new program will reverse sales for Both GM and Ford.
