Verdict: The all-new Subaru Uncharted is one of three electric vehicles to round out the Japanese brand portfolio. The all-new Toyota-infused electric crossover shares a platform with the CH-R.

Unlike a typical Subaru, the all-electric Unchartered is available in a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive configuration. At a starting price under $37,000, the stylish compact is available in a variety of trims, horsepower and driving range.

Our sporty Unchartered GT trim was outfitted with dual motors, producing 337 horsepower and an approximate 270-mile driving range. Also, the higher line GT trim was configured with an all-wheel drive system. Buyers seeking more range can opt for fewer horsepower.

Furthermore, the Unchartered GT was outfitted with such features as a Google assist, a co-pilot assist steering system, a high-level of safety driving aids, leather-like seating, a power driver seat, an audio system with 11 speakers, heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear outboard seats.

Overall, Subaru is establishing itself in the electric vehicle lane, ‘Unchartering’ no pun intended, new lanes with this sexy entry-level vehicle.

Competition: Chevy Equinox EV, Hyundai Kona EV and Kia Niro EV
