With the Infiniti brand reestablishing itself,and being one of two vehicles remaining in the brand’s limited portfolio for 2026, the QX80 has proven itself to be worthy of competing with the likes of the Cadillac Escalade and the Lincoln Navigator.
At a starting price nearing $88,000, the stylish, but bold looking Infiniti is available in four trims. Depending upon how the three-row SUV, with the truck-like driving characteristics, is accessorized, the mammoth vehicle pricing can easily push over the $100,000 mark as was the case with the all-new Sport trim. Unlike the previous generation QX80, the current generation QX80 is firmly cemented in the luxury SUV segment.
Like one would expect in any luxury vehicle, the QX80 is adorned with a host of amenities, especially in the new Sport trim we reviewed. Those accoutrements included such features massaging front seats, power operated second-row bucket seats, a panoramic power moonroof, a co-pilot assist driving system, a 24-speaker premium audio system and eye-popping 22-inch wheels.
And, while one would expect this almost 9,000 lb vehicle to be powered by a V8 engine under the hood, surprisingly, it’s not the case. In fact, the Infiniti mimics the Lincoln Navigator. Both vehicles are outfitted with a powerful 6-cylinder. In fact, a 450-horsepower engine power the redesign QX80.
Furthermore, we hear Infiniti is making plans to push the price of the vehicle to the stratosphere with a supercharged engine to go head-to-head with Cadillac’s performance-oriented Escalade V- Series in terms of power and pricing.
With that said, the QX80 screams luxury in terms of its design cues, well-appointed interior and price point. Has the QX80 earned it spot to compete with the likes of Cadillac Escalade and Lexus 600? We’ll let you be the judge
