Why:

All-electric off-road crossover designed for those who want to play in the dirt or mud

A higher ground clearance than a traditional Ioniq 5

360-mile driving range

AWD

Roomy

Rear seats fold down, offering more usable space for carrying

A radar activated cruise control with co-pilot assist

Wireless charging

In-vehicle wifi

A premium audio system

A high-level of safety driving aids

A two-way transfer charging system

A remote parking system

2,700-lb towing capability when tow hitch is included

But:

No available power sunroof on XRT trim

The vehicle requires the driver to push a button to start and stop and turn off the vehicle; some EVs allows us to activate the vehicle by literally shifting into drive or reverse

No front trunk for additional storage (aka frunk)

Verdict: Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 XRT is the brand’s off-road electric crossover. The hatchback-like crossover has a higher ground clearance than the typical Ioniq 5. In fact, its slightly higher than its competition, the Ford Mach-E Rallye.

Moreover, with its blacked-out wheels, front towing hooks and dual motors, the all-electric vehicle is capable of gliding through mud and sand with its all-wheel drive configuration.

And while the athletic Ioniq 5 is designed for light outdoor adventures, the crossover doesn't compromise on driving range or other amenities. In addition to a 349-mile driving range offered by the sporty looking Ioniq 5, the compact crossover offers a premium Bose sound system, leather-like seating, a radar-activated highway steering system and a high-level of safety driving aids.

So, for those who are seeking to add a little adventure behind the wheel, the Ioniq 5 XRT is designed specifically for that purpose.

Segment Competition: Ford Mach-E Rally
