Auto Trends with JeffCars.com, a weekly 30-minute program, is the only syndicated multicultural automotive radio program in the U. S. Host Jeff Fortson, who considers himself to be a student of the industry with over three decades of both corporate and retail experience from the automotive industry, says “every week pioneers, influencers and trendsetters from the industry will join the program for a one-on-one conversation imparting their knowledge or expertise.” Fortson’s hope is that the New Orleans community will feel empowered, enlighten and/or inspired each time they tune in.
And being that women influence a large percentage of today’s car purchases, the program will push beyond just focusing on the traditional car talk, which includes showcasing car reviews and raving about horsepower. Fortson realizes this will alienate listeners who aren’t necessarily car enthusiasts.
Throughout the almost 10-year history of the high-energy program, Auto Trends with JeffCars.com guests have ranged from GPS pioneer Dr. Gladys West and one of the first Black car designers Ed Welburn, who had a direct hand in pulling General Motors from the brinks of bankruptcy during The Great Recession, to J.D. Power, Consumer Reports, auto analysts, EV experts, autonomous vehicle subject matter gurus and CEOs.
"WBOK is proud to welcome Jeff Fortson and Auto Trends with JeffCars.com to our growing family of powerful voices. Jeff brings more than automotive expertise—he brings perspective. His ability to weave culture, equity, and industry insight makes this more than a car show” says WBOK General Manager Justin Lewis.
WBOK 1230 AM is one of the oldest and longest running Black owned radio stations in the country,
Periodically Fortson will adjust the programming to conduct live local shows for the New Orleans community. The 30-minute program will air Saturdays at 4 PM on WBOK 1230 AM. Encore broadcasts will occur Wednesdays at 12 noon.

This Weekend's Guest/Topic
In light of the Trump administration deconstructing the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, Jeff Fortson will share excerpts of his copyrighted car-buying clinic, which is copyrighted with The Library of Congress, helping consumers navigate and steer clear of 'car mortgages' and avoid predatory automotive lending practices. In the almost 10 year airing of the program, this is first time Jeff has conducted the program solo -- leading the entire conversation.
