Verdict: Subaru’s subcompact BRZ sports coupe is available in several trims. The BRZ, which shares a platform with the Toyota GR86, is available in an automatic or a manual transmission.

At a starting price of $31,000, the rear-wheel drive BRZ is available in three trims. We spent time behind the wheel of the all-new TS trim. This new trim ups the ante in the affordable subcompact coupe segment, offering a sport-tuned driving experience with its standard 6-speed manual transmission, Brembo braking system gold painted 4-piston calipers and 18-inch Michelin summer performance tires.

The all-new TS trim has a $5,000 premium over the base model BRZ. As vehicles become more automated, the BRZ TS reminds us that driving a vehicle can still be fun, engaging and safe.
