New Car Preview: 2023 Kia Sportage

 

What: 2023 Kia Sportage!

When Available: End of first quarter 2022!

Target: Kia has created an off-road version of the popular Sportage known as the Sportage X- Pro, which is aimed squarely at Ford's Bronco and . The new Sportage is designed to appeal to two different markets.

What's New: Its an all-new design theme for the Korean brand. The vehicle takes a new direction. It does not mirror the brand's three row Telluride or Sorento. Is this the new design direction for the other Kia's? We're not sure. This vehicle looks like it has more of a Japanese influence like the Mitsubishis.



Unique Features:

A 12-in digital cluster and 12-in infotainment center equal 24 inch

New touchpad that alternates between climate control and audio tuning

Adds 2-inch more ground clearance than outgoing model

The front center cupholders are interchangeable for an iPad

Remote Park, Parking Assist like on some Genesis and Hyundai products

Available Blind view monitor like on some Genesis products located inside the instrument panel

19-inch all terrain tires available with X-Line and X-Pro trims for off-roading

Engine Type: a new 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder, 8-speed automatic 

Horsepower: TBA (Possibly 187-horsepower)

Kia's claim: The 2023 Sportage is expected to be one of the largest vehicles in the compact crossover segment.

Hybrid version: Yes, its conformed. And a non hybrid gasoline model.

Electrified: Yes, but not available at launch. 

Towing Capacity:2,000 lbs
