What We Know: Nissan will finally announce on August 17 when they will build the next generation Z. This 2-seater will replace the spirited, but noisey 370 Z, which ended production during the 2020 model year.

What We Expect: Each time a new generation Z hits the market the designated numbers of the name change. Also every time a new Z is launched more horsepower is added to the snazzy hatchback. As we recall, the 370 Z spewed out at the top end 350-horsepower.

What Else We Speculate: The concept model with the V-6 turbo was outfitted with a 6-speed manual transmission. We've also learned that an automatic transmission was being developed for the concept model. Added to that, the concept model rode on 19-inch wheels. Lastly we expect that the next generation Z will retain the same styling cues as the concept  and more than likely will be designated as a 2022 model year vehicle.

Pricing: The outgoing  rear-wheel drive 370Z had a starting price of $32,490, before destination charges. So, we expect pricing to be around this range when the next generation Z hits the market. Stay tuned.

Stay tuned.
