Sixty-Six 2011 Vehicles Top Safety List

Beyond pricing shopping, looking for fuel efficiency, finding the right design and cruising for reliable vehicles, today's savvy car buyers should also take into account how safe the vehicle is that they're buying.  According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS), sixty-six vehicles earned the Top Safety Pick Award for 2011.

This prestigious and life saving award recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rollover, and rear crashes based on good ratings in the institute tests. Winners also must have available electronic stability control, a crash avoidance feature that significantly reduces crash risk. The ratings help consumers help to steer consumers to vehicles that offer a higher level of protection than federal safety standards require.
