A brand-new 2012 VW Passatt will be returning to the streets soon. Unlike the previous model, which has been out of the market for a year, this one will be priced much lower and be built in the USA. Like with the restyled Jetta, the new Passatt plans to go head-to-head with the Japanese and Korean brands. In the case of the Passatt, they plan on stealing sales away from the Accord, the Camry and the Sonata.
According to the folks at VW, the 2012 Passatt will be highly contented with standard premium features. The new Passat will be offered with an automatic dual-zone climate control, best-in-class legroom, an estimated 43-mpg on the highway with the segment's only diesel and a 3-year/36,000 mile free maintenance program. The vehicle is also available in a non diesel configuration too.
Pricing for the vehicle starts at $20,765 which is about $7,000 less than the model its replacing.
