Usually automakers launch different models by staggering the vehicles. However, with the compact segment being so competitive these days with the arrival of the Hyundai Elantra, Chevy Cruze and Ford Focus, Honda decided to pull-out all of the stops launching all six models of the next-generation Civic. The six completely redesigned models will include the Civic Si Coupe and Sedan; the well-equipped and technologically advanced Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe; plus the highly fuel-efficient Civic HF, Civic Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas vehicle.

Besides the six models, here how the 2012 Civic standsout from the 2011 models:

  • Advanced safety systems include the Honda-exclusive Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure for frontal collision energy management and vehicle-to-vehicle crash compatibility, and a long list of standard safety equipment including side curtain airbags, driver's and front passenger's side airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) and anti-lock braking

  • Streamlined, expressive “mono-form” exterior styling with clean, flowing lines

  • Roomier interior delivers more style and convenience than any other vehicle in segment

  • New available technology features including intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), USB Audio Interface, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®, and a Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice recognition and FM Traffic

  • New powertrain technologies include a re-engineered 1.8-liter I-4 engine with enhanced fuel economy, a larger and more powerful 2.4-liter I-4 Si powerplant and a new Civic Hybrid powertrain that delivers higher overall performance and improved fuel economy
