GM Attempts to Woo Toyota's Customers with Incentives

Wow, can you believe it? Who could have ever imagined, after the turmoil GM experienced last year, that months later the table had turned and consumers would question Toyota's quality? GM, who is still just months out of bankruptcy, is making a pitch to go after Toyota's customers.

With eleven Toyota models being affected by its largest recall ever, GM has launched new incentives in hopes of capturing disgruntle customers.

The incentive, which runs through the end of February, offers Toyota and Lexus owners three options:

1. Those who choose to lease a vehicle may waive three payments for up to a total of $1,000.

2. Qualifying customers who are financing a vehicle purchase can receive 0 percent financing for up to 60 months.

3. Cash buyers can receive $1,000 off their purchase. The incentive applies to purchases of GMC, Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles.

While Toyota sales weren't affected by the initial sudden acceleration recall, it will be interesting to see if their customers stick with them or jump ship.
