Lincoln, Grammy Nominated Singer Ledisi And The National Black MBA Swings Through Atlanta

R&B Singer Ledisi energy radiates throughout the crowd, as she sings.

Editor Jeff Fortson is being greeted by two of the hosts for this intimate affair.
The Lincoln MKC takes an evening break, after prowling the streets of Atlanta earlier.

Shawn Thompson, Ford's multicultural marketing manager, was grooving in the DJ booth, while Ledisi was performing.

What a way to get a crowd to test drive Lincoln's foray into the entry-luxury crossover segment!  After seeing Ledisi perform at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Shawn Thompson, the manager for multicultural marketing for Ford Motor Company, knew that this powerhouse singer, who has been invited to The White House several times under the Obama administration, would be a perfect fit for the National Black MBA, when they took over the city of Atlanta for their annual national conference. And yes, Thompson was right. The crowd was captivated by Ledisi's soulful voice, with an octave range, at times, that sent shivers through the attendees body.

In order to receive an invite to the private event hosted by Lincoln, attendees were required to test drive what many are expecting to be the MKC, a must-have luxury crossover, earlier during the day. Upon arrival, attendees were surround by waiters serving up hors d'oeurves and a self-served buffet. After the attendees were filled, then the moment came where the Grammy nominated Ledisi graced the stage filled with energy as she belted out songs from her newly released album entitled The Truth. And yes, she was all that, as she refrained from using tracks. In fact, her voice was so pure that she chose to perform with acoustics only. Now that is truly a sign that Ledisi is a singer with long term staying power. Ledisi also mixed in tunes from some of her truth-telling romantic ballads with a mix of uptempo songs from previous albums.

In our opinion, this was the perfect crowd to market a luxury MKC too --- MBAs. This was ingenious on Lincoln's part. Added to that, attendees were encouraged to take advantage of the brand's Date Night with the MKC. The caveat is that Lincoln will not only provide the attendees a Lincoln to wheel around town for the night, but also $100 to offset the dinner. What else could one ask for to seal the deal?

Oh yes, after Ledisi's performance, the DJs mixed the latest hits to keep the energy level flowing for the remainder of the night.
