Verdict:  Our pricy fullsize Sierra EV Denali truck is literally the brand’s crown jewel. The exterior styling is reminiscent of the 2013 Chevy Avalanche and Cadillac Escalade EXT except this go around its all-electric. The roomy high-tech, all-electric truck literally gives us a peek into the future of driving.

With the EV Denali, GM literally pushes us into the future. We now know what to expect when we combine electricity and autonomous driving. GMC nailed it with the Sierra EV Denali.

Our optional ‘Max Range’ truck literally eliminated what’s synonymous with many early generation electric vehicles, range anxiety. GMC has answered the question offering a 460-mile driving range slightly more than th3 2024 model. This was more than enough range for us to cruise around the city and backroads of Georgia with its car-like suspension system.

Added to that, GMC pushed the envelope, capping off the electric vehicle with a hands-free highway steering system. Having these two items offered the best of both worlds for those who are ready to embrace the future.

Moreover, being that this in all-electric truck, it brings the power, too. Our high dollar truck effortlessly pushed out a whopping 760-horsepower and was capable of pushing upwards of 11,000 lbs.

Furthermore, the flagship truck offered a number of amenities we didn’t expect such as a folding multipro midgate, which allows access to the bed from the rear passenger compartment. This is great for those who wish to optimize the truck to carry 11-feet cargo. The truck was also available with a crawl walk to which we first witnessed on the Hummer EV. This feature is great for diagonal parking in tight spaces.

And the truck offered a power operated hood also known as a frunk. Unlike traditional trucks, this vehicle offered additional cargo.

Lastly, while the vehicle moves us into the future, we were surprised the truck lacked a power sunroof and massaging front seats. Conversely, we know the Sierra EV Denali is out of reach for most truck buyers. To counteract the price, the good news is for the 2026 model year, GMC is offering more affordable trims, and less features.
