Could Ram, the truck division for Dodge, be working on a truck-like vehicle similar to the Honda Ridgeline? With gas prices rising, Chrysler's Ram brand plans to offer a light-duty pickup on a redesigned minivan platform beginning in 2013, according to one of our inside industry sources. The Ridgeline-like vehicle is expected to target folks who want a car-like ride, improved fuel-economy and the ability to be seen in a truck. The new Ram is expected to be developed on the automakers' front-drive minivan platform. While everyone laughed at Honda for making something almost like a truck now with gas prices circling in the $3.00 range it just makes good sense to have a vehicle like this in the portfolio. By the way, we're not sure if the new Ram will look like this. |
